Local Traffic Issues - Proposed Permanent Closure of The Avenue Madingley.

Request from Lynda Harford, County Councillor

Last evening the Chairman of Madingly Parish Council attended Dry Drayton Parish Council meeting to ask for support/feedback on his Parish Council's Local Highways Improvement scheme application to have the access to the A14 at The Avenue permanently closed. You will be aware that it is currently temporarily closed. Unfortunately, parish council protocol doesn't allow for councillors to discuss/comment on anything that has not been included in the agenda and so they were not able to respond to his request. I, however, as your County Councillor am prepared to put in a statement to the panel who will in the very near future consider this application. Please may I ask anyone who has a view on this proposal to email urgently to let me know what that view is. I would like to ensure that my view reflects that of those who actually live in Dry Drayton. [Regrettably I don't.]

My thanks in anticipation of any response.
