Dry Drayton Church of England Primary School - Governors
The Governing Body has overall responsibility for the efficient running of the School, including the appointment of Staff, managing the budget and oversight of the curriculum.
As a result of Government legislation, Governors' responsibilities have
increased enormously in recent years and theirs is now a very exacting role,
involving them in all aspects of School life.
Formal Governors Meetings are held twice a term. There is a Finance Committee
and a Personnel Committee which also meet. Additional meetings are held
as necessary.
In the Summer Term the Governors' Annual Meeting for Parents is held for
the purpose of reporting to parents on the Governors' Stewardship of the
School during the year and their plans for the future. In advance of this
meeting Governors send out a Report to parents. The meeting then considers
the Report and parents can raise suggestions and queries. Discussion groups
regularly form a part of this meeting.
Governors are regular visitors to the School. They work in School with us,
they carry out 'official' visits to see how aspects of the curriculum are
covered and attend some curriculum meetings. We very much rely on their
constructive and supportive role.
