Dry Drayton School does not have a conventional Parent Teacher Association. It has something far better - The School and Village Association.
The Dry Drayton School and Village Association has now been running for over 25 years and the current Committee comprises: Chairman: Fleur Clegg, Treasurer: Roger Swain, Secretary: Rob Howard, publicity Neil Harris, plus members: Lois Clarke and Phillip Stephenson. The money, which is spent, is raised by the village for the School and the Village. Regular meetings are held to discuss its activities, which are largely to coordinate, promote and provide funding for, events organized by other groups. The 2008 AGM will be held at the school at 8.00 on Wed 27 Feb and all, particularly newcomers to the village, are invited to attend and take a glass of wine afterwards. The next Termly meeting for those representing village organisations will be at the the school at 8.00 on Wed 5 March.
Marquee
The School and Village Association owns 2 marquees which are hired out during the summer to raise funds, as well as supplying the venue for Feast Week and other events in the village. The bookings are in June, July and August. The marquee bookings and rotas are organized by Neil Harris, Tel 01954 789049. If you would like to hire them, we suggest that you book as early as possible because it is already very popular.
If anyone would like to join the team of volunteers to erect and dismantle the marquee we would be more than willing to include you in the rotas. (You also get a free pint at the pub afterwards.) For more information on hiring or becoming a team member please contact us. We will assume that anyone who was on the team last year is able to help again this year - please let us know if this is not the case.
Village Newsletter
The S&VA publishes the monthly Village Newsletter. Dates for your Diary should be sent to Lorraine Lorimer and the same list will be included here after the newsletter is published.

The S&VA is now contributing to the www.drydrayton.net village website, and helping to maintain the Village Notice Board page. We need your ideas and to know how many people have Internet connections and would regularly access this site or prefer to have the newsletter on it or delivered by email.
