Current Development - taking place or approved
- Off-road cycle track connecting the village from Oakington Road to the non motorised user track beside the A14 connecting with Cambridge, Bar Hill and beyond. Held up through negotiations to purchase a strip of land from a land owner.
- Scamblers' Orchard - land at the rear of 65 Pettitts Lane - construction of ten houses
- Scotland Farm - construction of seasonal agricultural workers' dwellings, South Cambs reference 20/03013/FUL Granted 17 September 2020

Development Proposals directly impacting the Parish
- Cambridgeshire County Council Active Travel Schemes - two schemes affecting Dry Drayton
- East West Rail - one possible route is through Dry Drayton - outcome of public consultation awaited
- Land accessed from Park Street, behind the school and alongside Long Lane.
- Call for sites - exercise as part of preparation of the next Greater Cambridge Development Plan - a number of sites in and around Dry Drayton have been proposed for development. Dry Drayton Parish Council held an extraordinary meeting on 23 February to give feedback on the sites submitted which impacted upon the village (sixteen in total). The Parish Council considered all to be unsuitable - the minutes of the meeting set out the details. One such site, dubbed "Peck Land", is allegedly being supported by the Combined Authority as one of four new garden villages - see this report in the Cambridge Independent

Other developments which might affect Dry Drayton in the future. Some of these are linked to the proposed 30 per cent population growth for Cambridge / South Cambs by 2031.
